According to U.S. State Department papers seen by the Guardian, George Bush's decision not to sign the United States up to the Kyoto global warming treaty was partly a result of pressure from ExxonMobil. Read here.

The national academies of science for all the G8 countries have also warned that governments must no longer delay action on what is widely seen as the greatest danger facing humanity. The statement is all the more important as it is signed by the president of the US National Academy of Sciences, which has warned George Bush about the dangers of ignoring the threat posed by global warming.
