The UK?s Food Standards Agency (FSA) warned today that people should drastically reduce their salt consumption. High salt intake can cause high blood pressure, which is a contributing factor in more than 170,000 deaths a year in the UK.

Around 75% of salt in diets comes from processed food. Among the biggest contributors are bread, breakfast cereals, biscuits and pasta. Only 10% to 15% of the remaining salt is added during cooking or at the table, with a similar amount found naturally in certain foods.

Food Standards Agency has also launched a website where you can play a game featuring Sid the Slug!
