Helvetica or Arial?

Edouard Hoffman and Max Miedinger conceived Helvetica type in 50s in Switzerland (Helvetica is the ancient Latin name for Switzerland). Helvetica swept through the design world in the 60s and became synonymous with modern and progressive attitudes. Arial is a loose adaptation of Grotesque type redrawn to match the proportions and weight of Helvetica. Arial has spread very fast through the typographic world and illustrates the power of Microsoft's influence.
